Between pain from the past and stress in the present, it’s not always easy to find your way.
The good news is you don’t have to do it alone. At Intertidal, we believe that seeking non-judgemental support is your right.
During individual counselling, you and your therapist will meet to talk about what you want to change in your life. You may resonate with one or more of the following common issues people come to us to find help with:
General or social anxiety
Depression, including low mood, low motivation and shame
Feeling frozen or stuck
Struggling with life transitions including new parenting, graduation, retirement and career changes
Feeling on high alert or ‘hyper-vigilant’
Trauma
Grief, loss and heartbreak
Chronic stress
Difficulty with saying no and setting boundaries
Anger and irritability
Relationship issues
Strong inner critic
After you set goals for how you want to thrive in your life, you and your therapist will discuss your journey so far, discovering what makes you unique and taking note of the strategies you have learned to survive.
You will be invited to take your time, slowing down and “tuning in” to the messages your mind, your body, your heart and your spirit are sending about what your needs are in the present.
In therapy at Intertidal, you can expect to try new skills, including learning how to mindfully direct your focus to the parts of yourself in need of your attention, how to regulate your nervous system using grounding techniques, how to visualize and set boundaries, and how to shift a critically hostile relationship with yourself using patience, curiosity and compassion.
We recommend that you book a free 15-minute consultation with one of our counsellors first. That way you can start to get to know us before spending any money.
